I would like to take this opportunity to introduce myself to you. My name is Alice Marie Lunt, some of you already know me as Mrs. Lunt or Ms. Alice. I am one of the teachers teaching in the ESE Autism Unit here at Jensen Beach Elementary. This will be my fourth year teaching at Jensen Beach Elementary School but my 17th year of teaching over all. I have been married for 9 1/2 years now and have two beautiful children ages 5 and 7 1/2 years old. I moved here in July 2005 from Long Island, New York where I had taught in both the regular education and special education setting. I received my B.S. in Elementary Education, an M.S. in Special Education and my Track Coaching Certificate at Dowling College in Oakdale, New York. I am dually certified to teach Elementary Education and Special Education in the state of Florida and New York.
I have many years of different teaching experiences prior to teaching in the ESE Autism Unit here at JBE, one of which was being a Lead ABA Teacher in New York. I supervised both teachers and students and provided school based and home-based instructional services for children with autism and other special needs from birth to 2nd grade. I was a special needs soccer coach and was Sports Director for Helen Keller's Camp for the Blind. I have always been involved in extracurricular activities that involve building self esteem in children.
In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with my husband, playing with my children, swimming, walking, doing art projects or crafts, being a Brownie Girl Scout Troop Leader, and being involved in youth sports activities. I am very grateful for the opportunity to teach here at JBE and to share my experiences with my students and their families. I always try to maintain an open line of communication and appreciate your sharing any questions and/or concerns with me about your child. If you need to contact me, please do not hesitate to calling me at the school at 772-219-1555. You may also reach me by e-mailing me at lunta@martin.k12.fl.us. I enjoy teaching and would not trade it for anything in the world.
Looking forward to another great year!
Sincerely,
Mrs. Lunt a.k.a. Ms Alice
